Element of Magic
Born as a result of the entry exams at Celestia's school, Twilight didn't have a family from the start.
They grew up serving the unicorn that hatched them and witnessed much of the magic and study the school had to offer.
When they weren't serving their pseudo-parental, they were reading and studying up
on magic themselves, and learning all they possibly could. Devastation was wrought when it finally sunk in that they would never be
able to perform such magic due to not being a unicorn. Despite this, however, Celestia took interest in them and had them attempt some spells.
After a few failures, some choice words from the Princess inspired them to look at magic from a new angle, and they finally were able to
hatch a dragon egg of their own. Naming the young wyrmling Spike, they took him in as their younger sibling and both
were taken under Celestia's wing to learn as much as they could about pony and dragon magic.
