Exactly 5 years after his elder brother Ozias was born. He was a very quiet and mild mannered child who did everything he was told with no questions asked. The exact kind of kid his parents wanted, opposed to Ozias who was rowdy and goofy. When Riel was 5 years old his 3 year old brother Michael was killed in an accident. This devastated the family and completely destroyed his mother. Only months later she would take her own life. No one was around to homeschool Riel and Ozias so they were in charge of keeping themselves busy during the day while their father was at work. While Ozias ran off to town to have fun, Riel was too young to be left alone. He would go to work with his father, usually playing in a corner out of the way. As he got older he was able to help his father at his job and eventually began working there full time at 17. He would later be given the opportunity to own and run the funeral home on his own with one condition. If he married a woman of his fathers choosing. So two years later Riel married his wife Ione at 19 and the two of them ran the funeral home together. Four years ago his younger half-brother came to him for help and Riel let him stay with him. They have been living together since then. Just recently his father died and Riel was the sole inheritor of all that his father owned. This caused an even bigger rift between Ozias and Riel and the two just do not interact at all. Now with his father gone Riel has been thinking about what he really wants in life.
