Thing

"What is that thing?" is the common description for this strange beast, as it does not seem to be based on any particular creature - snake, dog, cat ?? who knows ??

Either way, it's a creature of the night, stalking campers and hikers relentlessly through the dark forests it resides in. Easily given away by it's eerie glow, Thing wears down the psyche and stamina of it's prey, waiting for them to sleep before it strikes. It can be easily distracted and scared off, but this is all temporary - until you exit the woods into the bright, open fields surrounding them, it stalks relentlessly. Best sleep in shifts, or keep a torch on you at all times. They don't sleep, they only watch and wait.
