Aria

Aria is a sharkdog whose family has called the land their home for many generations, and she actually doesn't feel much connection to the sea. Not to mention that she's nearly blind without her glasses, so it's pretty difficult to swim even if she wanted to. She is honest to a fault - sometimes this pushes others away. The worst crime in Aria's opinion is to be untrue to her own beliefs, so if you take a different stance than her on something, she is quick to point out the flaws in your logic, and she does not hesistate to let people know when they are being ignortant. Her honesty does come in handy sometimes - true friends of hers know that she would never talk about someone behind their back; she would prefer to confront them. This gives them a sense of security, because if she does treat you like a friend then you know it is a true friendship that you have earned, and one that will not easily falter. Aria loves writing - her favorite thing to write is mindless erotic romance, most of which she self-publishes on the internet. She actually has quite a fanbase. A lot of her fiction is based on people she has known and had unrequited feelings for in the past. She falls in love with others too easily, although life has taught her not to hope for the feelings to be returned, and she is content being put in the fabled "friend zone". While she writes, she has a habit of gnawing on her arms, which results in some accidentally self-inflicted wounds that she covers up with bandaids. Sometimes the wounds aren't so accidentally self-inflicted, although she would never admit it. Outside of her novels, she absolutely loathes drama of any kind. She always stays uninvolved or neutral when drama unfolds in her social groups. 

Relationships:

➥ Astrid - Mizuho met Astrid through Gamble (Astrid's brother). Astrid was likeable, confident, happy and pleasant - everything Aria is not. She was content to love Astrid in secret, unrequited, like her feelings for Mizuho (who incidentally and awkwardly is Aria's niece). However, Astrid was sweet to her and responsive to all of her attention. When Astrid needed a place to live and Aria jokingly suggested she move in with her, Astrid was quick to accept the offer. Since then, Astrid has become her bustling little housewife. Aria adores her, lives for her - everything she writes, Astrid is her muse. She never imagined she could find happiness like this.
➥ Jontae - one of Jontae's favorite vacation spots is Madrid, which is where he initially met Aria. They both have a similar sense of sarcastic humor, and they both enjoy barhopping, so the pair of them make very good friends. She sometimes accompanies him on his vacations around the world, although she insists on paying for herself so that it doesn't look like they're dating. She hates that he tends to ignore the injustices in the world and, while he has enough money to make a difference for charities and politics, he chooses not to. 
➥ Loudon - since Loudon is Jontae's best friend, Aria naturally spends a lot of time around him. They get along well enough, but Aria finds him to be a bit naive. He does tend to agree with her about social justice and politics, though, and she thinks he has a good heart.
➥ Gamble - another friend met through Jontae, Gamble flirts with Aria a lot, which initially infuriated her, since she hates being treated the way that men tend to treat women. But she has grown accustomed to his womanizing ways, and while she still acts like she can't stand him, she sees Gamble to have a very warmhearted, loving personality and considers him a dear friend. 
➥ Zentrik - Aria met Zentrik through Gamble. She finds Zentrik to be the weirdest, most obnoxious sharkdog that she has ever met. Unlike most, who would pretend to like him just to be civil, Aria is very forward about her dislike of him. Jontae thinks it's hilarious, but Loudon and Gamble are constantly trying to get her off his back. Most of the time, her cruelties are over Zentrik's head.
➥ Mizuho - Gamble introduced Aria to his niece Mizuho when Mizuho first moved to Lisbon to live with her new mate, Kuda. Aria sees Mizuho as exotic and beautiful, and she secretly adores her. She knows that Mizuho is happy with her mate, but can't help but be jealous. She would never act on her feelings, though, and is content just to write about characters based on Mizuho in her novels. She is open with her dislike of Mizuho's mate Kuda, which makes Mizuho uncomfortable, but the two females share a love for tea and get along surprisingly well.
