New Loner Nickname: Otter
Chestnut is a rich brown tradinional snowshoe cat with green eyes and a medium-length silky coat. His pelt has a noticeable sheen to it, as if he'd always just taken a swim in a river. He has long legs, large ears, and a long chocolate brown tail.
His design is pretty simplified already! A slight rework is in progress.
- His nose and tongue don't match color-wise
- The skin beheind the ear fluff matches his nose
- His eyes really are green, despite snowshoes having only blue eyes
- This is because he isn't a purebred snowshoe cat

Chestnut is a playful cat who enjoys watching the clan patrols that come by from the trees. He'll also occasionally dip into the river that flows down from Cyprus Clan territory to gather trinkets the clan cats miss out on. While he doesn't necessarily decorate himself with them, he has a tendency to leave things he thinks are useful near their borders. Despite offers, he's refused to join the clans.
Most clan cats see him as stubborn or patronising due to his determination to help them without joining them. Others recognize that he's simply compassionate towards them, and that he doesn't need to join in on their way of life to contribute in his own way. Because of his helpful nature, he's one of the few cats not outright chased off when he strays too close to clan borders.

Chestnut, born Oliver, was born to a snowshoe kittypet named Blossom. His early years were spent exploring the twoleg den he was born in, climbing everything he could to catch a look outside. While his sister explored the windowsill garden, he was watching the local wildlife and honing his climbing skills.
When he discovered the twoleg was planning to take them far away from the den where they'd grown up, Chestnut began plotting a way to escape. He was able to convince his sister to go with him, but had to leave his mother behind. It took him a while to find his paws in the woods, but he was soon able to go out hunting for himself and his sister. It was his idea to change their names, leaving their kittypet lives behind. He started the life of a loner as Otter, if only because another loner said he swam like one.
After a particularly nasty run-in with rogues, Chestnut and his sister were taken in by a young wolf dog named Clover. They were convinced at first that she was going to attack them, but it turned out she was just curious about the clans that lived nearby and mistook them as clan cats. The two spent a lot of time with her, teaching her more about how to interact with cats in return for shelter and protection. In an attempt to keep the rogues from finding them again, he agreed with his sister to change their names. He has since been known as Chestnut.

"She may be a little odd sometimes, but she has a good heart."
Mango is his littermate. He hasn't truly left her side since they were kits, and isn't comfortable leaving her behind for long periods of time. He'll often bring things back for her if he thinks she can use them for anything. She's the one he goes to whenever he gets himself hurt.
"She's a bit of an oddball, but she's fun that way! If I didn't know any better, I'd say she was just a really big hyperactive cat. Or maybe a very large fox."
Clover is the wolf dog that took Chestnut and his sister in after the rogue attack. She's still trying to pick up on terminology, but is well-intentioned. He doesn't know if most other rogues have backed off because they lost track of him, or because he's befriended a wolf dog. In either case, he's grateful for his friend.
