Bio: Salem, to put it blunt, is a cruel, manipulative, and selfish person. She wasn't always this way, though. Years ago, she was considered laid back, carefree, and generally tried to stay on the good side of the people who could aid her. Salem isn't even her real name. Or her real appearance. After a close brush with death, she shed her identity to start completely anew.

Salem, on top of everything, is very mentally ill, and struggles with her identity and sense of self. What started as a fresh start, slowly turned into a persona put up as a defense mechanism. As Salem, she sees herself as strong, independant, and able to get her way. She's cruel to those around her in an attempt to keep them from getting close to her. Salem is able to act as a shield to hide the fact that underneath, she feels scared, small, and alone. As Salem. she's able to pretend enough to even convince herself. Things began to lose control, however, as what started as a calm, unfeeling persona began to twist into one who was easily angered, volatile, and self sabotaging due to her own pride and greed. Still, she kept it up, and this worked for her the best it could. Until, at least, she actually started to care for the people around her, something she thought she had lost the capability of, mixed with an even closer brush with death, started to crack her Salem facade and send her into a tailspin.

In truth, she had put this facade up for so long, she had forgotten who she really was underneath. Things became harder for her, as all her decisions started to become plagued with doubt, and guilt, and all these feelings seemed to choke her, making her relatively unstable. Salem, underneath it all, is paranoid, jumpy, untrusting of those around her, and is unable to form stable attatchments to those around her, and her being recently cursed with lycanthropy doesn't seem to aid that.

Salem's true self is a mystery, even to her. Her unstable sense of self and unhealthy attatchments to those around her causes her to bend her appearance and personality to whatever she thinks will aid her the best, or whatever the people she's trying to please would want from her. She's prone to self sabotage, often knowing her choices are wrong, but choosing them anyway in an effort to protect herself from getting close to those around her.
