Opal is a Mantaling living just outside of Kraken Port in a large house. She is from a very rich family, her papa Irving Irving runs the esteemed Fresh Furniture, while her dad Tiberius/Ty Irving is a very successful band manager. Despite their demanding careers, they try to make as much time for her as she can.

Parties thrown by her family, or other prestigious families, were the only places Opal really got to interact with children her age. She didn't end up making any long-term friends until high school, where she found a group to fit into. At first, things were good, until she realised they were just using her for her money, a fact they became more and more transparent about.

Opal decided to feed into it, letting people use her money as they pleased. But in the form of a loan. She became a loan shark, giving short return times and hiring brutal debt collectors to make sure she gets back what she lends out. This "business" is underground, and neither of her parents know about it.
