**TGQ is a partially-satirical historical fiction series taking place in WWII, many of the characters in it might be morally grey, yadayadayada you know my speech.

Saul J. is the delinquent French-Moroccan (mostly Moroccan) journalist and campaign manager for the French Communist Party. He’s a strong boxing champion, but don’t let his burly appearance fool you. He’s actually very intelligent and well-versed in world politics. He’s trying to quit smoking cause he needs his lungs for his sport, but it’s hard because he lives in France and France is like the smoking capital of the world. He wears an 1800s-style Navy uniform and cap, but he's actually not a sailor! Instead, it's implied that he has family members in the military, and his current clothes were gifts; they're quite comfortable, and give him an iconic, memorable appearance in the newspaper.
