Maisie Pearl is an ex member of the Royal Marine Core of Scotland and works under Agent Rose Scarlet to uncover the secrets of Neo Dominus to help take them down. Despite her inital appearance as the classical villain's sidekick, she reveals herself as a secret hero, working hard to expose Neo Dominus to the unsuspecting people of Silver City.

Maisie goes from a troubled yet kind double-agent working to take down the shadow government to a dangerous woman obsessed with revenge. After the Battle of The Beacon, Maisie becomes a force to be reckoned with, and becomes one of the primary threats. She becomes someone who is willing to murder and torture anyone that gets in her way.

Maisie comes off as someone serious, unemotional, and quiet. She is, however, very passionate and headstrong. She only shows her true, more playful self to those she really trusts, usually as a method to keep herself safe. She has a habit of keeping her emotions deep down and rarely cries before Neo Dominus.

Maisie was born out of wedlock in Arbroath, Scotland, to a Scottish woman. Her father, a tourist, dissapeared the moment he found out his wife was pregnant, leaving her alone. Unable to cope with the idea of having to raise a bastard child all alone, Maisie's mum dropped her off at an orphanage. From a very early point in her life, Maisie was met with a lot of difficulty. She was consistently in and out of foster homes as her spitfire personality made her a bit unruly. When she reached her late teen years, she moved out, living on her own.

Maisie had a hard time finding herself. She didn't have many friends, and as such consistently felt lost. It wasn't until she signed up for the military did she start to feel some self-importance, finding her calling there.

Time in the military

Maisie started near the bottom, as many people do. She was recruited into specific training to become a sniper fairly quickly. Maisie is very good with math and is able to think quickly, making her an excellent sniper. A while into her career, the recon unit she was in got called to the field. While out, she got separated from her unit in a firefight. This was her first real fight, and immediately it was very intense. She calmed herself and kept going, eventually managing to free her captured platoon. It was here that she got a nickname - Hemlock - for her ability to be silent and lethal. Despite the praise she got for that mission, Maisie still has nightmares about it, making this fight one of the more traumatic ones due to how scared and alone she was at the time.

Royal Marine Core

Maisie went onto the Royal Marine Core under Major Kerr, an older man who took Maisie under his wing. Under his command, she got to know a few other soldiers, such as Lt. Cullen and Corperal Locklin. Most importantly, she met a light-hearted and goofy man by the name of McCaffie Faulkner; everyone called him Caff. Caff and Maisie became very close over the years that they served together, slowly growing a romantic relationship between the two as the tension built up.

Maisie went from a private, to a corperal, and was aiming for a lieutenant spot. However, one day, she was on recon with Caff when a shot rang out from an unknown location. Caff was hit, the bullet going through his mouth and shredding his face open. Maisie called for e-vac and managed to rescue Caff, who miraculously survived. Maisie wasn't done, however, and went on a revenge hunt for 3 days straight. When she returned, Kerr gave her an earful, but eventually let her off with a warning for her behaviour. Maisie, despite her exhausted aching body, managed to crawl into bed and sob herself to sleep, the first time she'd cried in years.

Joining the CIA

A few months after Caff's injury, Maisie was interviewed by a member of the CIA. They were arranging a specialized task force and had heard of Maisie's reputation. When asked what it was about, the interviewer was cautious at first, but then told Maisie about Neo Dominus. They had very little on it so far, and needed help to understand more. Maisie felt too heartbroken to stay around Caff any longer, so she agreed. Regardless, the two had a heartfelt goodbye, Caff managing to slip her a note in Gaelic that Maisie couldn't translate.

Maisie was assigned to work under Agent Rose Scarlet. Rose was sadistic, stern, and awful to be around. Maisie, however, managed to impress her with her ablity to multitask, and as such was spared from Rose's direct hits. Maisie was still under constant threat of being hurt, though, Rose often sending a giant thorn-covered vine crashing into the walls next to her, always keeping Maisie on her toes. In the middle of her investigation, Agent Rose discovers Path and captures him, turning him into her minion; Pathosis. Maisie sets aside her personal goal at the time to help Path out, knowing that if he fell under the control of Neo Dominus, Neo Dominus would be unstoppable.

Maisie manages to get Path's park under state protection without Rose finding out, making Rose's threat of tearing down his forest to keep him in line null. Path fights back and is freed. Rose, furious, vows revenge against Path and his new friends. Maisie continues to gather information under the radar, using Path as a middle man to send information to Charlie, the Gunslinger, with hopes that he can do something about it. However, 3 years after Maisie helps Path get free of Rose, Rose finds out about Maisie through Neo Dominus himself and captures Maisie before she can escape. Maisie does, however, leave a dropbox with the rest of her information about Neo Dominus at Charlie Victor Sierra - also known as the CVS drive-thru.

Captivity, Torture, and Freedom

Maisie is tortured by Rose in captivity, having her left eye torn out. Maisie is kept in a completely white room, often on hallucinogens. Rose visits to torment and hurt her whenever she gets frustrated, using Maisie as a personal outlet. Her hair grows out and her muscles grow weaker. Maisie spends approximately 2 years in this hell before Neo Dominus attacks the city and Path comes to rescue her.Despite being held in captivity for so long, Maisie tries her hardest to help Path out. As Path clears the way, Maisie tries to contact her mission control. However, she can't make a connection - probably due to the attack. She does, however, remember the code for her old Marine core, she sends a coded message. It goes through. Maisie can only hope that someone had heard her.

Maisie and Path end up fighting Rose on the roof. Rose manages to block all of the bullets with her vines, Maisie left with one last bullet. Surprisingly, after a bit of back-and-forth stalling, Rose is surrounded by marines. Maisie's team were many miles away just across the Canadian border and had managed to come in as backup. Rose, in a last-ditch effort to try and stop them, summons all of her power into a giant tornado-like vine storm. With the help of Path to rip a hole on the vine layer, Maisie finishes Rose off with the last bullet, hitting her in the right eye. Rose fell off the building to her death, weighed down by her vines. Maisie and Path managed to evacuate the crumbling building. As it turns out, the marine Lieutenant that led the rescue squad was McCaffie. The two are re-united as Maisie is taken to get medical care.

Post-Neo Dominus

Maisie goes through heavy amounts of both physical and mental therapy to try and heal from what had happened to her. She starts to get back her muscle mass and wore a black eyepatch over her missing eye, getting used to having long hair. Maisie takes a mandatory break from work, but during this mandatory break she starts to work towards creating her own task force. The task force would be focused towards making sure nothing like Neo Dominus ever happens again. She started to help Path and his friends with their healing process, such as delivering flowers to the hospital, helping Liam with his research into Constantine, and helping Path to find his maternal grandparents. She also gets to talk to Caff more, having finally gotten to translate the note in Gaelic. It was a love confession, which she reciprocates.

Maisie becomes more and more obsessed with finding and killing the remaining members of Neo Dominus. She and Caff focus on building their task force into something a lot stronger and more deadly than before. She slowly starts to mellow out as traces of Neo Dominus fade, but Caff still worries about her mental state. Twelve years after the Battle of the Beacon, when Maisie is in her 40s, she learns of Robbie becoming a member of Neo Dominus. Despite Robbie being in his late teens, she vows to hunt him down and kill him. This causes a rift between Maisie and some of her friends, mainly Liam, who wants to try and protect Robbie. This is where Maisie really goes off the deep end, becoming obssessed to a manic degree.
