Miah Amarni
Overview
Miah is a member of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and known to many people as a Warrior of Light. She is motivated by her pursuit of power and is constantly seeking out ways to strengthen her magic and fighting abilities, even at potential cost to herself.
An intensely driven person with little patience for those she views as weak, Miah has few close relationships with others. Those who count themselves among that number however, know Miah as an intensely loyal friend, if more than a bit reticent.
Nothing in this world matters more than your own power.

Demeanor
When she's annoyed, she often clicks her tongue or rolls her eyes mid conversation, as well as lashing her long tail around, which often leads to something (or someone) within range getting hit. When focused on a particular task, such as refining a spell, she'll crack her fingers idlly. Miah is quite diligent about her own training, practicing her own spells or sparring near daily. After the events of the Bloody Banquet, paranoia leads to her being always armed in some way, either with a dagger hidden in her clothing or with crystal jewelry that she can use to cast small spells without a staff.
While she dislikes speaking with strangers, Miah is quite sharp-tongued and rude, though this is toned down somewhat with people she knows, she's still a relentless tease. She won't hesistate to express when she's displeased with someone or something, but has difficulty verbalizing more positive feelings about people besides herself. Miah also isn't very good at explaining her own plans to others, so working in a team with her is often quite frustrating as she has a tendency to go off and do whatever she likes without telling anyone.
Similar to how she communicates, Miah very rarely verbalizes that she cares for someone. She tends to poke fun at and play tricks on people she likes, whereas others earn either her indifference or outright ire. In more serious situations, Miah often attempts to comfort those she's close to by simply being near them, as opposed to her normally solitary behaviour. She'll attempt to take care of them and is also fiercely proctective of her friends when battles go south, to the point of extreme recklessness.

Design notes
- Her build is lean and muscular.
- She has extra fur growing on the back of her neck and shoulders, as well as her forearms and calves.
- Claws and fangs are not optional, her feet are clawed as well
- The placement of the scars on her body doesn't matter, but they must be there in some form.
- Her tail is very long, over half the length of her body
- Her face has very small gold freckles, however these are optional and can be left out if it overcrowds the design

Childhood
- Partially due to her upbringing, Miah has feels nothing but disdain towards gods and has no respect for any figure of authority.
- She was raised in Western Shroud an area that is currently inaccessible in game due to the destruction wrought upon it during the Calamity.
- Miah was taught how to use a bow during her childhood, though its no longer her weapon of choice, she still uses it ocassionally to hunt in her spare time.
Miah was born to a large Keeper of the Moon family in the Northwestern Black shroud bordering Coerthas under a new moon. Being fervent worshippers of Menphina and the moon, the members of her clan believed that her birth on a moonless night was an ill omen. It was said children born on dark nights would bring misfortune to any in their wake, and Miah was ostracized by most of her family members growing up. This superstition however, was just further justification for the older members of the clan’s dislike of her due to the circumstances of her birth.
Miahs’ father was a wandering Sunkeeper Miqo’te that lived his life as an adventurer, and the elder members of the family disapproved of Miah’s mother being involved with him. After Miah was born, most of the family treated them both poorly until eventually Miah’s own mother grew to resent her daughter for isolating her from her family. While the relationship between Miah’s parents did not last, her father often came to visit her between his adventures, and though he never stayed long, he would regale her with tales of his journeys outside of the forest. He was the only remotely positive adult influence in Miah’s life, until one visit a few years before the calamity was his last. He never appeared again, and Miah never learned if he was dead or alive.
The tribe she belonged to was regularly in conflict with the Gridanian Wood Wailers and the Ixali and their primal Garuda. Repeated clashes between the groups slowly killed most members of the extended family, and by the time of the Calamity, Bahamut’s rampage all but wiped out what remained of them.
Pre A Realm Reborn
- Though she did leave the conjurer's guild, she still retains a bit of her abilities of the class, and can cast minor healing spells on herself
- Her time in Ul'dah is when she first meets M'iha, although the two do not become friends until they both join the Scions.
At the age of 14 after the Calamity, her prior home all but destroyed and most of her family members dead or fled to other regions in search of stability, Miah left the Shroud as well in search of a new life. She initially stayed in Gridania and used her aptitude for aether manipulation to join the conjurer's guild, before leaving due to coming into conflict with the other guild members due to her open dislike of the elementals. She did not fare much better on the streets of Ul’dah, until she joined the Thamauturge’s guild and discovered her own natural aptitude for more offensive magics. Here she remained to hone her skills until setting out a few years later to become an adventurer.
