Alibi

Alibi was first created for a Grade 9 character design project; he is an artificially created animal, able to change the texture and color of his skin like a cuttlefish, able to breathe both water and air, able to hold and manipulate objects with all four webbed paws, and with intelligent thought. His color when not trying to disguise himself is teal, green and white, and he has bright orange eyes with a translucent teal eyelid to protect his vision when swimming.

He was intended to be trained into use for reconnaissance and spying, with his adaptability and disguisability, but funding meant the lab was steadily falling into disrepair; he was broken out of his statis tube by Aloopah, a prototype of a creature meant for assassination, at the guidance of the two telepathic creatures Ini and Gem. Alibi escaped the lab as quickly as possible, vanishing into the forest beyond the fence, and did not return.

Currently, he lives in an isolated swamp, with a sleeping chamber underground and only accessible by swimming through the mire and into a hidden tunnel. He collects shiny things there, for his own satisfaction. There are times when he wonders about how the other experiments are doing, but for the most part he is content in his life.
