history: selty was a product of the one-time romantic union of her siren mother, selina and her human father, yiannis. while typical for sirens to interact with human men, it was usually for the purpose of disorientating sailors at sea or killing them- not falling in love with foreign exchange students. so, when selty was born, both she and her mother faced incredible ostracization from siren society. they were pushed out of almost every aspect of life. ultimately, selty's mother began to grow ill and passed away when selty was only 3 years old. but before her death, she had migrated with her daughter to the shores of neo los angeles. in fact, to the same exact cove where she had met selty's father years before.
