Stubborn, very stubborn. Ius would call himself persistent but that is nowhere near accurate. He is stubborn, bullheaded even. He may be a bit of a meddler as well. Sticking his sticky pink nose where it does not belong. Oftentimes this meddling has resulted in trouble, headaches and general annoyance for all those involved.

While stubborn, Ius is very intelligent. He will use what he knows to get what he wants. He leans towards selfishness as his first impulse but may be persuaded into better behavior if he is having a good day.... or if he thinks it will benefit him later on.

He cooks for a living, enjoying what he makes but it is really a means to an end. He listens in on the gossip of his restaurant's patrons quite often... so if you visit his tavern you better keep quiet about your personal goings-on. It is likely he will use whatever he hears for his personal gain.

Also he makes a mean stew.

History

Born in Mead where his parents raised him with his many, many siblings. They had very little in the way of necessities and with so many siblings it was easy for Ius to just slip through the cracks. It was so easy for him to be over looked that he needed to go though other means to get what he needed emotionally and physically. For him this meant stealing, begging, bargaining and tricking others into giving him what he wanted. This rough upbringing resulted in his "I come first attitude".

As soon as he had acquired enough resources to be out and away from his family he left. It was tough for him to leave his younger siblings but ultimately he chose himself above them and left. It is unlikely he will ever return to see his parents again however, if it benefit him in any way there is a chance he could end up helping his siblings in the future.

Ius left home at ten years old and went to live in the woods surrounding Mead. Ius lived off of edible plants that he found. One of the only things his mother was able to provide for her children was the knowledge of foraging. She taught all of her children which plants were edible and she taught them about a couple plants that have some minor medicinal properties. It was part of the family's daily routine to go out and forage for dinner. Its seems that this might have just been his mothers way of getting help with meal prep however and not just the passing on of family knowledge.

After about a year of this foraging life on his own in the woods, Ius was becoming rather thin, sickly and generally unhealthy. He was about to just give up when he remembered one of the special plants that his mother had told him about. She never told him what it did, only that it was a plant that was very very special in his family going back generations.

When Ius found this plant (not too far away from his campsite) he looked down at it. It was a beautiful green moss. It was soft and warmed from the sun. Little white flowers shot up between the patches of moss and it created such a sweet, alluring aroma. Ius decided to take a nap on the moss as it was so warm and comforting and he was just so tired.

When Ius awoke from this nap he felt extremely content except for this rather annoying itchy sensation on his snout.

Time passes and his snout becomes more and more bothered so he decides to go over to his little drinking hole and see what was going on. When he looked at his face he saw that there was a little sprout of moss growing on his face! This is when he discovered his ability to grow plants. Everything his mother explained to him made sense now.

After this discover he became afraid of being found out so he decided to go back to his home and confront his mother who must have had this ability too since she knew so much about it? She was never sent to Namaroast though so there must be something that he does not know about this. When he returns home his parents home is in shambles and everyone is gone. The house was turned over and everything was scattered throughout. The only thing that Ius could find was his mothers herbology book which had a note that said. "Ius, If you find this go to field where I used to take you to play and wait for an answer. You will know it when you see it. I knew that you were special. I am sorry that I did not teach you what I know. You were the strongest of my kids. Do not be afraid. If it is still there, look under the floorboards in the shed. There you will find a cloak. It may be helpful for your travels. I did love you so much"
