Profile

These are cousins of the virispree, but come into existence differently. They’re a little taller than their cousins at 4-5 feet tall and lack any kind of distinct digits on their hands and feet. Their arms are vine-like and can wrap around things as a means of grabbing.

Like their virispree cousins, they have a single plant-like growth sprouting on top of their head. These are usually flowers, but leaves have been known to happen as well. All of the trees on Dwam possess the ability to sprout wilderspree given the right circumstances.

They wear clothing but don’t wear shoes as they like to feel the ground beneath their feet.

Biology and Breeding

They have three genders: male, female, and genderless. They are a dioecious species. Most of the population are either male or female. Genderless individuals comprise of only 18% of the total population.

They can interbreed with virispree but the resulting offspring are most often virispree rather than wilderspree. Neither species can interbreed with the speerites.

Locked traits

While they don't have traits, exactly, there are some things that are only available to Admins to use outside of certain MYO events.

- leaves instead of flowers

- mixed heritage

- night blooming flowers

- glowing markings

- cactus flowers (cacti are rare and considered trees for all intents and purposes)

Life Cycle

All wilderspree begin their life as a tree blossom. From first bud to fruiting, it takes 6 months before a new baby wilderspree is born. Their life expectancy is roughly 2000 years old.

Bud (0-6 years old) - Their growths haven’t developed yet. Instead they have a tiny bud. They have little if any hair. They have solid white eyes at birth and can’t see very well.

Sprout (6-8 years old) - By this age they have hair and a definitive eye colour. Their bud is showing signs of opening.

Seedling(8-20 years old) - Their bud has opened, revealing their flower or leaf

Sapling (20-40 years old) - The first signs of their skin markings are appearing.

Adult (40-800 years old) -  They have fully developed skin markings.

Elder (800-1200 years old) - A second growth has sprouted on their head. A new one will sprout for every 50 years of life that follows.

Snag (1200-2000 years old) - At this stage in their life they have at least 10 growths. They develop small mushroom or mossy growths on their body. They move very little at this point as their joints become stiff.

Dietary Needs

They require sunlight as a means of sustenance, but not as much as a virispree does. They get most of their nutrients by burying their feet in the ground for a few hours out of the day. They lack teeth but seem to derive great enjoyment out of chewing on leaves. Small berries comprise the rest of their dietary needs. Wilderspree require water, but it's far more beneficial to water the flower on their heads than to consume it. They love to get wet.

Government

To an outside observer, the wilderspree are far stricter than their virispree cousins. This is only partly true. The settlement elders run everything, but they meet with the faction heads to make sure things are running smoothly. Each faction only has one leader.
