Rawhide is more in tune with his Dinobot form, rather than his robot-self, which also reflects on his behavior and manner of expressing himself. He often doesn't use words to speak but variety of sounds instead, usually low growls and grunts. He prefers to stay in his dino-mode as much as possible, and is often described being more "feral" than others. Because of his big size, Rawhide is pretty clumsy and slow, and also requires quite a lot of energon to function. To save energon, he sleeps a lot.

He's usually seen in the company of Ripmaw, with whom he has a close relationship. He works as a bodyguard for her.
