She has quite honestly the most modest upbringing. Her parents are nice and encouraged her to do as many activities in school that she wanted, which led to her evolution into a Pawmot and eventually a top combatant in the tournaments. Glimmer approached her after a battle to ask if she'd be willing to help with a lost Pokemon, and they've been best friends since.
