BACKSTORY

Background

Vincet grew up in a big village far away from Everwind and was born to two other unifolk; Jupiter and Stella. And grew up with his big sister, Stellaluna.

While growing up, Vincent was seen as an outcast in the village due to his shy nature and poor social cues. He was often bullied a lot for being weak and nerdy, going so far that his sister had to step in several times. He and his sister were very close, always having each others backs when times were getting rough. Stellaluna eventually moved out, seeking adventure and to start a family of her own while Vincent stayed behind, becoming a professor at the village's university.

Even apart, Vincent and Stellaluna kept in touch with each other through letters. When the letters abruptly stopped, and with no one else sending him a letter to keep him informed of what happened, Vincent took it upon himself to go and check up on his sister. Following the cords and maps Stellaluna has sent him previously, he ventured out to go and look for her. Because Vincent wasn’t very good at navigating or fending for himself, he ran into many troubles.

Eventually falling through a nether portal on accident, landing him in the Midnight lands. He didn’t give up, however, and once he gained all his senses he kept forward. Vincent met many villages till he found the remains of his sister’s. Vincent refused to believe his sister died in the ruins of the village and set forth to keep looking for her or any signs of her family. He eventually stumbled across another nether portal, to which he entered, bringing him to Dawn.

November 19th, 2021 - God Reveal

Vincent was wandering around Dawn, lost and confused, when he runs into Skye. He is at first very startled by her appearance, only to soon warm up slightly once they introduce each other. Skye offers Vincet a tour of the place, to which Vincent accepts greatly.

After the tour Skye tells Vincent that he can’t stay here, for it’s too dangerous, to which Vincent explains to her that he’s only there to search for someone very dear to him, who is Stellaluna. They head over to the library because Vincent was nerding out over it.

Skye asks Vincent if he has any information on the gods, to which Vincent says he does and starts to teach her all he knows, with Rasp entering the middle of the session and listening in. The session is soon interrupted when Steak runs in being chased by Wallflower, claiming Wallflower to be the Sun God, Aereus.

While more people flood into the library, Vincent is too shocked to speak and starts to panic. Rasp helps lead Vincent out of the library through the back, to which Vincent makes a run for it, not knowing exactly where he’s running. He runs through Dawn’s nether portal, entering Midnight.

November 21st, 2021

Shortly after arriving in Midnight, Vincent hides in Okapi’s house, in hopes to escape the noise. This doesn’t work however, and Vincent is met with Rasp, Okapi, Leaf and Bobsight. While Okapi is trying to calm the situation and ask who Vincent is, Bobsight keeps interrupting Okapi and tries to make Vincent wear a saddle, calling him nothing but a horse. Skye walks in and manages to get Bobsight away from him for a bit. Skye eventually takes Vincent to her house in hopes to get away from Bobsight, this backfires as Vincent corners himself near Skye’s fireplace.

Skye and Okapi eventually manage to get Bobsight to go away by saying they’ll get them axolotls. She then asks why Vincent is here, to which he replies that he wanted to find a place to calm down, and to escape what happened on Dawn. They all go back to Okapi’s house to discuss all that was happening.

Skye explains the situation on Dawn and Okapi explains to them what happened here, mentioning the name Achlys. Vincent, upon hearing this name gets too excited and blurts out that Achlys is his niece, not reading the tension in the room. With this new information everyone goes quiet, making Vincent nervous and ask why everyone seemed upset. Okapi explains that Achlys is a suspect in the kidnapping of Adder, making Vincent deflate and apologize, but then he states that Achlys couldn’t be a part of the evil plot, and leaves to go find her himself, in hopes to disprove it.

Vincent walked up at Achlys’ house, to try and reason with her again. But, as he went into the house no one was there. He took this as an opportunity to see if Achlys was really telling the truth, and if this child, Adder, really was down there then he needs to see for himself if they are alright. Vincent made his way down the water elevators and stopped dead in his tracks at the sight of Streamless. Streamless asked him what he was doing there and Vincent asked if they were the missing child the village has been searching for. Streamless took a swig of his drink, clearly indicating that they were not a child and said that there is no one else here but them.

This is soon proven false as Adder stumbles out of the room she was in. Vincent looked at them both and said to Streamless to let this child go. He just gets angry and tries to get Adder to go back to her room, but gets distracted when Vincent says to let her go and to not harm her.

Streamless threatens Vincent and during this Adder tries to break it, leaning on Vincent’s leg slightly, Vincent says there are other ways for Streamless to get what they want, but Streamless is clearly fed up with him and grabs Adder. Adder bites them and Vincent hits Streamless with a big book, in hopes to knock them out. Neither tactic works and Vincent watches in shock as Streamless drags Adder back to her room. Vincent yells at Adder that he will get help and come back for her and he leaves, to go find help. Vincent runs to the village and yells around for anyone.

Leaf shows up and asks what’s wrong and Vincent explains everything. He explains that he talked to Achlys the other night to see if these rumors were true and then he went back today to try and reason with her again but that she wasn’t there, so he went into the basement and found Adder, but he also found Streamless. Leaf muttered that she was right and they both go to see Okapi so Vincent can explain again.

Once inside, Okapi asks what’s going on and Vincent explains himself again, but a little more clearly. He feels ashamed that he was not strong enough to fend of Streamless. Okapi thanks him for the information and she and Leaf get into a small argument. Vincent wonders for a moment if they were going to cast him out due to who he was related to but to his surprise, Okapi turns to him and offers him a handshake, saying that they got off on the wrong foot. Vincent says that it’s okay and that he understands and tries to give her a handshake, but due to his awkwardness shys away from it. Okapi then tries to speak some more but they’re both caught off guard by Leaf snapped at Vincent, saying that he gets an apology but she doesn’t for being right. The two argue and Vincent leaves, he can’t deal with anymore arguing.

Vincent was minding his business in his own home, sorting books, when Arrow walks in. Vincent is very startled by the fox, so much that he scrambles back towards the wall, trying to avoid him. Achlys walks in, angered by what is happening and demands that Arrow leave him alone. This angers Arrow into grabbing Vincent by the shirt and lifting him to the wall, aiming his sword at him.

Vincent is in so much shock that he can’t make out what Achlys and Arrow are talking about, before a few more actions of Achlys enrages Arrow and he feels his throat get slightly sliced before he hits the floor. Vincent watches the two argue back and forth, until Achlys gets stabbed through her chest.

Vincent is outside tending to his house when Schnoob shows up. Vincent is at first extremely anxious around Schnoob, but starts to warm up once they get into a conversation. They state that they’re on their way to Skye’s house, and Vicent mentions that he lives close by.

Vincent invites Schnoobs into his house, offering them some cookies. They then talk about their lives a little, about where they’re both from, with Vincent being careful not to prod too much. Their conversation lands back on Skye, with Schnoob asking Vincent about what he thinks of her, to which Vincent says that he doesn’t entirely agree with Skye most of the time, but considers her a close friend.

They then end off the conversation with Schnoob giving Vincent an enchanted book as a housewarming gift, to which he is very excited about, and with Vincent offering his house as a place they could stay in at any time, same with his house on Midnight.

March 26th, 2022

Vincent accidentally wanders upon Tonnie’s place when he was out exploring. He then sees people talking and slightly arguing, to which he sits himself on the grass to rest for a moment. Skye goes to Vincent with a new person named Solaris, saying that they know Aereus.

Vincent is amazed by this and all three start to talk about themselves a bit, mainly Solaris and how they know Aereus. They then form a book club called VSS Book Club and Vincent tells them that they can all meet up for the meetings in his house in his library.

He takes them there so they can have a look around, with Skye agreeing this is a good place to meet up, even with Skye offering to help him build. Vincent then mentions Schnoob stopped by the other day, mentioning Skye, to which Skye questions Vincent a bit more but doesn’t get much information before Vincent escorts them back. Vincent then wishes them a good day before heading back to his house.

March 28th, 2022

Vincent was out and about, trying to find more things to gather for his house, when he spots Wattson cutting down some of the trees outside his home.

He goes to Wattson and tries to introduce himself, but Wattson is baffled that another person found him, explaining to Vincent that he is the second person to spot him. Vincent is caught off guard that Wattson knew his name before he could even give a proper introduction and asks how he knows. Wattson explains that he’s been observing people, making Vincent even more confused.

Vincent tries to shrug it off and Wattson brings up other things, like if Vincent has any books. Vincent says yes and tells him he has books on anything. Science and history catch Wattson’s attention and he asks more about the history books, like if they’re from recent events. Vincent says he has books from far back, about the gods, about villages, etc. Wattson asks about the god books and about Selene and if he has the books on him. Vincent says that they’re back at his home on Midnight, that or he left them with Skye while moving.

Wattson complains a bit that he’s leaving things at Skye’s place, making Vincent a little upset but changes corse and asks Vincent about Selene and if he knows any information about Selene personally. Vincent says he does but he isn’t allowed to go into much detail, remembering his promise to Skye. Wattson complains again and tells Vincent to forget Skye, to which he says he can’t and that Skye is a friend. Wattson says they could be friends, which makes Vincent happy.

Vincent invites Wattson into his house and Wattson goes ahead and goes in anyways, exploring for himself. When he finds the library, he tells Vincent that he wasn’t kidding, to which Vincent says he never lies about books. Wattson explores Vincent’s house and then asks Vincent again if he has books about Selene. Vincent repeats himself, but says he could bring the books to him. During all of this, Vincent says that he has to go see Scuorge. Wattson asks why and Vincent explains that the moon god is not quite herself and is trying to help Scuorge with her memories. Seemingly satisfied with this information, Wattson leaves, telling Vincent he’ll see him later.
