Personality

Ayane is generally childlike, they has a positive outlook on life, is very impulsive and has a rather glaring lack of tact, they do things their own way and is always brutally honest. They're very simple minded, often expressing amazement or confusion at very common, every day things, and does not think things through too thoroughly. They're also very ambitious and reckless, when they puts their mind on something, absolutely nothing is able to stop them, even when it leads them and their friends into trouble.

They love fighting, and will never let an opportunity to spar with someone go. They have a lot of respect for strong opponents, even if they happen to be their enemies, and always enjoys the thrill of battle, though they will act with seriousness if the situation is dire.

Ayane is a pretty chaotic individual and has no regard for rules or authorities, and will do anything if they find it fun or can benefit them or their friends, laws be dammed. They don't make a distinction between criminals or law enforcement when fighting, if they get in the way of what she wants, they're getting beaten up.

What they lack in brains is made up for with their compassion, Ayane makes friends very quickly and won't hesitate to help anyone in need, no matter what. Fitting for being blind, they're willing to look past anyone's faults and see the good in people's hearts. It is very hard to make them angry usually, however they do not forgive nor forget anyone that hurts who they consider friends.

Ayane is relatively fearless; they have no qualms with going headfirst into the wolf's den and responds pretty casually to things most people would find scary. The only thing they truly fear is losing their friends and family.

Abilities and Powers

Despite being blind, Ayane is an incredibly capable fighter, in no small part due to their mana and the rigorous training they self-endured during their teenage years, possessing incredible physical strength, agility and especially endurance. They are also a quick learner and a very creative fighter, surprising opponents with unorthodox tactics, which greatly constrasts their usual simple-mindedness.

Weapon

Ayane is the owner of a white cane modified to be able to extend great lengths, which they've dubbed the "Power Cane". They have learned to skillfully use this cane in combat, being able to punt foes with great force or at a distance with it, or propel themself high into the air. They have even used it to "fish", by skewering any poor fish they've got their mind on.

While their cane is their main weapon, they aren't afraid to use any kind of weapon they can get their hands on, unconventional as it may be, even if they aren't too sure how to use it.

Mana

When they lost their sight, they very quickly developed Light Mana, an Emitter-type Mana that allows them to encase any part of their body in channeled light or blast it at opponents in various ways. They mainly use it to enhance their physical attacks, making them far stronger than they would normally be, but they're also able to generate blasts of light in either short bursts or a long wave. They also developed an ability to "feel" the aura of anyone in relative close proximity, which compensates their lack of sight.

While losing one of their senses made this Mana a lot more powerful than usual, it also comes with the downside of tiring them out to the point of losing consciousness if they overdo it.

History

Ayane was born and raised in Gem City, Almany, and has lived most of their life there with their mother, Bei, and their sister, Evangeline. Their father was still around, but was so busy with work they barely meet him in person. During their childhood they picked up a love for adventure and action comic books and movies, which would inspire their endeavors in the future.

When they were 7 years old, Ayane, along with their sister, studied the feats of a certain legendary hunter, which inspired them to become famous hunters themselves. However, their family disapproved of Ayane partaking in such a dangerous job. To prove they were fit to be a hunter, they foolishly stuck a pair of sticks in their eyes as proof of her endurance, which cost them their sight. Needles to say, this didn't inspire confidence in their family, and continued to prohibit them from becoming a hunter until Ayane managed to save Eva from a bandit attack with an accidental discharge of their Mana, a feat which managed to begrudgingly win over the approval of ther family, which let Ayane become a hunter once they were prepared enough. Thus, they and Eva began training by themselves until Eva became a hunter herself and left her hometown to do her job around the world.
