Profile

Adagio is extremely quiet and generally strange. Their mannerisms are odd and their manner of speaking, in the rare occasions that they do speak, is confusing and riddle-like. They keep to themselves as much as humanly possible and observe rather than participate in conversation. Aside from initial impressions, those that might get close to them would discover that they are a wildly abstract and generally “fun” person to be around.

Adagio grew up in the Italian countryside in a small town. They don’t fully remember what it was called, and they don’t fully care about their life in the town enough to figure it out. A social outcast since birth, Adagio was born to two fairly normal parents that suffered from not being able to bring themselves to emotionally connect with their child. Due to this, Adagio figured from a very young age that people must only really speak with each other when it’s necessary. When introduced to social settings of any kind, they found themselves considering the constant talking and interaction overwhelming and strange.

This alienation led Adagio to prefer nature to human company. They would spend hours upon hours outside, and learned to fend for themselves more than they felt anyone else would ever care for them. They became self-sufficient. After years of taking care of themselves, they turned eighteen and moved out with no hesitation. Their parents feigned a sort of sadness as they boarded the train to Naples, and Adagio was puzzled by this motion. They did not let it bother them, though. They had a life to lead, just like they did when they were outside. Upon their arrival to Naples, they found that they were heavily intrigued by the prospect of employment with the very prominent gang, Passione. In need of a place to work with good pay and relatively individual work, they spent three years researching how they might be able to get into the gang.

In 2004, they made it in. Adagio gained their stand, Fear of Music, through the Passione stand trial. The stand is artificially humanoid and functions combat-wise in a close range of 9 meters.

Fear of Music, appearance-wise, seems perpetually terrified. The diamond-shaped “eyes” it has are unchanging, and have no function. Its real eyes are the dots in the middle, which move around the diamond shape they reside within. Its overall body is a white, plastic material seen commonly on desktop computers popular in the 2000s. Its chest holds a screen, which functions as an observer’s view into Adagio’s travels through technology when they utilize Fear of Music’s ability. The stand has several exposed wires, but severing these only causes minimal damage to both the Stand and to Adagio. On its legs are additional plastic “leg warmers”, red and blue in color, which house Fear of Music’s “feet”, a pair of wheels.

By knocking Adagio out, Fear of Music has the ability to move Adagio’s consciousness from their body and upload it into a computer or other piece of technology. Adagio’s mind rationalizes their surroundings and allows them to effectively interact with anything the computer has within it or travel through links between the computer and other devices. This ability aids them in being able to quickly pass on information and research with ease. The main drawback to this ability is that Adagio is entirely defenseless while this is in effect due to them being blacked out.

Adagio is a lanky, thin person, standing at 6’3”. While not physically intimidating in terms of muscle mass, they compensate in speed and durability in hand-to-hand combat. Adagio has a notable slouch stemming from long periods of time leaning over books and looking intently at computer screens.

Their face is oval-shaped with wide, cold eyes. Their irises are completely black and they have medium-sized, unkempt eyebrows. Due to their insomniac habits, they have deep eye bags. They have a long nose, which shows signs of having been broken in the past. Their lips are average in size and downturned, in a sort of perpetual frown. They have dimples and scattered beauty marks and freckles.

Clothes-wise, they only are ever seen outside of their home in a long coat and suit. These items are seen to be combined in a number of ways, with different colors, designs, and more, so long as the base combination of suit and long coat remains the same. Within their home, they primarily wear a loose white minidress. It isn’t fancy or particularly expensive, and they wear it entirely out of comfort.
