Caracara Brittlepoint hatched in 500 A.E.D to Raven Brittlepoint and Buzzard Silverspeck. His mother was the eldest daughter of Count Vulture Brittlepoint and Avalanche Goldneedle while is father came from a famous family of knights.
He remembers very little about Buzzard; his parents had a rather strained relationship and he was also generally kept busy with his work in Peak.
Growing up came at an ease for Cara. Since he was born to a noble family, he indulged in the comforts that came with his privilege. Raven constantly showered him with love and affection. She would tuck him under her wing and tell him about the other baronies-the dormant volcano in Mistcrater, the beautiful fertile vallies of Roseglade from where her mother's family was from-and then sing him off to sleep.
The stories filled him with a hunger for more, he wanted to see everything that the world had to offer.
Then, tragedy struck in 503. Cara's mother was killed, having been found clawed to death in the wooded area behind the manor. However, his grandparents and father agreed to hide the gravity of the situation from him to keep him happy, at least until he was old enough to understand what happened.
When he asked his grandfather the next day where his mother was, he replied that she went on a hunting trip and wouldn't be back for a while. He was a little bit hurt that Raven hadn't told him beforehand but it was fine, she was a busy windwyrm after all.
But after a couple weeks, he grew worried. She should be back by now, right? Still, whenever he asked his relatives where Raven was they all gave him the same answer: she was hunting.
And then a month went by. Two months. A year. Finally in 505, he asked his grandfather where she was once more and Vulture sheepishly admitted that she had been dead the entire time. Cara started crying, they were all liars. Vulture. Goshawk. Buzzard. Even his aunt and uncle were in on it too. In time, he forgave them, but he never quite saw his family the same way after that, what else could they be hiding?
