even for a toon, smudge's body does not quite function as it should. their strange teeth, their unblinking eyes — weird smudge puts the weird in their name. for all their strangeness, smudge is a kind soul.

weird smudge is a very helpful toon who enjoys caring for kids. they like making homemade gags, especially the baked ones. smudge has an unwavering desire to learn and adapt. they do not let anything get them down.

CHAPTER 1 [before.]
back when ye olde toontown was just toontown, weird smudge was born to a big family of goldeneye ducks. they were a member of a small village and the student of a wise sage. along with their friends daisy and brimstone, smudge was in the process of learning magic to become one of the elders of town. they showed great promise, but brimstone was more ambitious. he manipulated daisy into cursing smudge; his attempt to utilize them as energy. in turn, daisy cursed brimstone too, and sealed her friends away.
CHAPTER 2 [after.]
venturing through ye olde toontown, athena and showtime stumbled upon a hidden chamber in an abondoned tower. the room was filled with books and magical trinkets, and in the very center... a sword. without hesitating, showtime reached for it, and from a burst of light arose a goldeneye duck.
finally released from their curse (more or less...), smudge wants more than anything to help the kids who helped them. as of now, they are a toon ranger fighting in the resistance. they often go after high level cogs with their dangerous gags. usually explosives.

DESIGN NOTES
- the fangs. a big part of their design. meant to be unsettling
- their big yellow eyes are just normal goldeneye duck features. normally toons have pie eyes, you can draw them however though :)
- they love a lot of clothes, like fancy gloves and dresses. their fashion can be all over the place
- real goldeneyes have sexual dimorphism in the color of their feathers, so i made smudge be a bit ambiguous. they present both masculine and feminine
