Artefice

A man seeking immortality of all kinds, at all costs.

   Effectively the Supreme Commander of the Stone Hearted, albeit he prefers the title of "Sovrano", and for his militia to be called their official name, "Cuori di Una Nuova Nazione". As their leader, he also has total authority throughout the entire conquered territory of the Imperium dei Cuori, and is also the one behind its planned structure, split into "organos": the Cuori serve as the military, Cervello, scientists responsible for technology and education, Manos, the artists and architects, and Laringe, responsible for propaganda and press. With the nation following his esoteric ideal of a "corpus", where each segment is entirely dedicated to its function in order to best serve the whole, the Imperium dei Cuori has managed to grow frighteningly fast into a totalitarian monolith of power and oppression.

   He looks to establish an eternal legacy as the "greatest emperor to ever live", and as creator of an empire that would unify all human civilization into one powerful, military unit. For this, he developed techniques for the manufacture of immortal soldiers, born into life as sculptures imbued with souls of murdered humans of strong will and body. His first experiment, Lysander, was almost a complete success, albeit he managed to escape before the process of indoctrination could begin.
   He then perfected the process by implementing mental torture and sensory deprivation. In Artifice's own words, it was "as if each creation came from the womb, with a strong body and without much in its mind, ready for doctrine and tactics to be implemented." Thus, the perfect soldier was born.
