While Sondre suffered in isolation and from experiments Erik was taken to Stefans side and taught everthing a scientist needs to know once it was evident how intelligent he was. This, too, came with a price however: impossibly high standard and expectations as well as violent punishment for failure. This all drove Erik to perfectionism and made him envious of those who had a more carefree easier life than him, yearning for something he will never have.
