Profile

PERSONALITY:
Selfish and self centred, Fails to think of the Tribes needs, Introverted, Easily Angered, Has troubles understanding normal human life and morals.

DESCRIPTION:

  • Body parts are slowly becoming more and more animal like from overuse of his powers, hence the hands and horns. Its canon that in her older years, she becomes something of a horrible beast made from a mixture of animals.
  • Tribe: Made up to avoid mistakes within a real certain group. Rather northern, so it’s cold and snowing most of the time.
  • Must kill those who are close to him to reach peak of dark magic. Killing his brother as a kid sets it off and only worsens as he ages.
  • Must wear some form of an animal to turn into them.
  • Has sacks of animal bones and claws and fur along with noticeable pelts on him to have as many animals to his advantage as possible.
  • Transformations are not unlimited or fast. They are tiring, and at first, can only be done once a day for a short time. Transformations can take a few minutes to an hour or so depending on the size and complexity of the animal.
  • Like normal skin walker lore, they are just powerful Witches who take on the form of animals for their needs. Which is why at the age of 16, the protagonist dedicates his life to be as powerful as possible and learn all the tricks that skin walkers supposedly have. Like being able to mock anyone’s voice they like, such as a relative, and lure people out and kill them.
  • The fact that she is also a Two Spirit supposedly makes him more powerful and respected. This in turn would mean his affinity to witchery is heightened. Because of his bitter attitude however, other tribe members have a tough time treating her with respect and high value for being a two spirit. This then completely flips around when they find out that she’s a skin walker and has killed, in which they think he’s the most powerful but awful thing to happen to the tribe.

 BACK STORY:
At the young age of 6 (Nahele) and 7 (brother), the two are out playing in the forest just outside their tribes settlement. It’s spring and the snow has already begun to melt and reveal the light greens of the grass. The large lake not too far from the tribe has begun to melt since being completely frozen over in the winter.

After playing games like tag and hide and seek, the two decide to play one last game of hide and seek. The rules are clear, don’t go too far from the settlement, don’t go back into the settlement and don’t hide in trees because of the danger of falling, and because it’s cheating.

It’s now Nahele’s turn to search. Brother thinks it would be a bit of fun to break the rules just this once and hide in a tree, to spook Nahele later.
After a long and tiering search, Nahele is getting shitty and impatient, just about to give up. Just has he sits on a little dry patch of grass under a tree, Brother hangs off a branch and spooks him, growling like a bear.

Nahele freaks out and gets mad, but also kind of laughs at his brother, who’s also laughing at him. The bro hops down and tackles Nahele to tickle him and lighten him up and Nahele joins in, ruffling and wrestling each other up. However, while playing, Nahele gets a little too into it and pins bro down to the ground, holding his head and neck down with all his weight.
Unable to breathe, brother begins to gasp and flail, meanwhile Nahele is oblivious and thinks he’s just playing around. After a long silence, Nahele looks down to notice that Bro has stopped moving and stopped breathing. Nahele let’s go, still smiling thinking that bro is just playing dead, but when he still doesn’t move, he freaks out a and flips him around. His eyes are blank and dry, staring past Nahele and into space. Mouth open and no sign of life, Nahele realizes this isn’t a joke and out of shock, drops his brother and scoots back, breathing heavily and holding back tears, knowing that if he were to scream, an elder would come running and find out.

Minutes past and Nahele realizes that it’s getting late and that if he doesn’t come home with his brother soon, shit will go down. Completely scared, Nahele looks around and sees the newly active river nearby and does whatever is necessary to get out of this. Dragging the body over, he dunks it in water, pulls him out a tad and them gets himself drenched in the water too; holding his brother like he did when he first died, Nahele lets out a loud, broken scream. Help! Help me please! Mum, dad!
Tribe members flood to the scene, completely shocked by the sight in front of them. Their dad, the tribe leader at the time, pushes through the crowd and pauses, disbelief draining his entire face pale. Unable to say a thing, Nahele puts on the saddest face he can and blames the river for what happened, saying that his brother slipped on a rock, fell in and came back up like this.

Tribe members rush to him, drag Nahele away from Bro and it all becomes a hazy mess. Mum, who arrived a little later, cusps Nahele on his back, while also clenching onto Dad, crying into his shoulder. Dad looks down at Nahele and studies him. Dad notices that Nahele’s face feels forced and fake, and grows a little suspicious of him for the years to come.

******

Years pass, mum has new baby girl, dad grows up to be bitter from sons death and untrusting of Nahele. Nahele discovers ability to turn into wolf and uses it as much as he can, without telling anyone. Dad is still tribe leader and doesn’t really act as a family man. Mother is still very caring but is now focused on new child. Nahele doesn’t have any real close friends, only some people her age who sometimes say hi and pretend to be chill but mostly gossip about him anyway. Nahele doesn’t care so much, but doesn’t think about it as there being something wrong with him.

This becomes an obvious trait in Nahele. He is NEVER the one who is wrong, and if he does something bad to someone, they must have deserved it. Also becomes greedy and power hungry. He wants to turn into any animal, not just wolves. And to do so, he knows he has to break more taboos and kill. He tends to think in a “the outcome justifies the means” kind of way, and will stop at nothing to get stronger.
He suppresses a lot of these feelings up until the age of 16, where he snaps and chooses who to kill next.
With no close friends, he has to kill a family member. He knows that dad is suspicious of him, but it would be harder to kill the chief than say, mums new born baby.

One night, when everyone in the long house is sleeping, Nahele turns into a wolf and steals the baby, taking her out and biting her throat out. What Nahele doesn’t realize however, is that he has to be in human form when killing for it to take effect. Senselessly killing his baby sister as a wolf, mum wakes up to see a wolf eating her child. Without realizing Nahele’s absence, the families chase the wolf away and Nahele has to run, leaving the mangled baby in front of his mother to see. While running away, dad clubs the wolf but fails to stop it.

Next morning, Nahele sneaks in. Mother is broken and refuses to speak for the rest of her life; dad is incredibly suspicious of Nahele now. Dad corners Nahele and pulls up his poncho without warning; exposing a club shaped bruise in the same place he hit the wolf. Just like that, he grips into Nahele’s arm and drags her out for everyone to see, explaining his proof and exposing Nahele forever. The gig is up and Nahele admits his crimes completely indifferently.

With a riot about to start, Nahele rips away from dad and runs, looking into his mothers horrified eyes as he leaves the settlement for the last time. The tribe chases after him, preparing weapons and shooting arrows. Nahele is hit with two arrows, one through the right shoulder and the other through the left thigh. He pushes himself through.
Running as fast as he can, he takes solace under an upturned rock and turns into a wolf as fast as possible, in order to be even more agile and blend in as best she can.

He escapes, and lives on his own for the rest of his life in the woods.
Killing innocents in human form ” unlocks ” new animals for him, but only by going back and killing the last of his family will he reach the peak and learn new powers.
