My Lost in Space robot dude. He’s a slightly different model that humanity started developing, hence the tail and different feet and scales, etc. They were made to be more docile but weren’t able to stifle the whole independence thing, so the project was quickly scrapped and Ayai became the only modified robot left. He ended up being repeatedly broken (some modifications made it very difficult to actually kill him) and then hastily put back together just good enough so he’d do the bidding for others. Eventually, he started to break from his obedient and non-aggressive programming. When researchers of alien species realized this, they tried to destroy him and start from scratch, but we’re unable to actually kill him so they just kinda threw him in a cage, literally in two pieces. At this point he became unable to put himself back together so he just waited and waited until he finally managed to escape. Since then, he’s terrified of humans but generally pretty tolerant of other lifeforms. His face is permanently broken and he’s half blind, so his first reaction is “defend first, talk later”.
