Once a being with a normal life, Oasis was a simple creature. That was, until a war between gods broke out, and one god began gathering an army of mortals.
The mask is a symbol of Oasis' forced loyalty to the god, and had replaced his face to tie his identity to his deity. He went rogue soon after, like many of the other soldiers, but there is nothing he can do to undo the transformation of himself. So now, he must remain in his body for the rest of his life.
