Tech Coven
Newt belongs to a coven of witches that approach magic from a very modern viewpoint, looking to advance the craft rather than rely on what's tried and true. This often involves blending their magic with modern technology in some way or another. Newt does this by creating robots and gadgets, and infusing them with magical properties. For instance, he created Spade's gun.
Past
Newt won't talk much about his past and gets very uncomfortable (and potentially panicked) if brought up. He's clearly not from the area, as his heavy Eastern European accent gives that away, but that's as far as most people know.
Newt's coven mate. They're besties and get into all kinds of shenanigans together (usually thanks to Glitch)
Newt's very interested in him and is eager to use him as a guinea pig... I mean, tester, for his gadgets.
His robotic familiar. Newt built the shell himself, but little creature's 'soul' is completely organic.
