Have you ever spoken words that you wish you could take back after reflecting on it? What if that was also not just words, but actions?
Beon would say he was good at keeping his cool, able to say words that soothed an angry conversation and act as the calm in a storm. He rarely made a mistake in the way he talked to and behaved around others.
But the one time where he lost his cool, when he snapped and stormed out of a room in cold silence...that had deep consequences. And it wasn't consequences for his public image, as one might expect when acting rudely in front of nobles. No, it broke the relationship he had with his brother, Khai.
It was Meiri mediating this time that resolved their tensions, but never again would Beon snap at his brother like that. Not after seeing how much it hurt him.

Beon thinking the war would end slower with Khai as the spearhead. he isn't jealous - genuinely, he isn't. He believes that if was Meiri or himself as the prophesied one, the war would end faster, and their kingdom would not suffer for so long.

Meiri: but maybe now with all three of us working together, the war would end faster

Beon: So it took the gods appointing Khai for him to help us? I don't want to work with someone who hasn't even tried to help the war effort on his own.
