Summary

Main story

WIP but I'll cover the basics really quickly. Started out as a pokemon researcher, working in a team alongside Professor Wattle. Among the regular Pokedex work, they were interested in restoring extinct varieties of pokemon. The first successful specimen was a Hisuian Zorua, which Wattle gifted to Augustine. Augustine frequently visted a cafe after work, where he met and fell in love with the owner Clarisse (They married roughly before he recieved Zorua). Things were great for a long while, but eventually tension started to appear in the marriage, unfortunately leading to their divorce. Augustine moved out, and then lost his job, pulling the last of his life out from under him. He disappeared for another few years, nobody knew where he was and even feared the worst (it was during this period that he started Team Scale).

When he returned, it was as a leader with grunts and top commanders in tow. Blaming an imbalance between order and chaos, and pokemon in the hands of those extorting them, Augustine decided harsh retaliation was in order; he'd locate two unnaturally powerful pokemon from myth (the box legendaries) and use them to destroy a controlled area. Along the way he runs into Jett/Eloise, initially manpulating them into retrieiving something for him. J/E runs into Augustine again in an underground mine, where the three of them become trapped, and are forced to help each other to find a way out. Augustine has a closer conversation with them, revealing his ideals and learning more about the kid/s (they're eventually able to work together, and even save each other's lives by the time they're all out). He returns to Team Scale and discovers the location of the Golden Bridle, an artefact that could control the legendary pokemon. It's also in the same city where the cafe is, and he has a very tense reunion with his ex-wife :). But also finds the bridle. Skip forward a bit and Augustine releases the legendaries, takes control of them and sicks them on the target city as planned. He thinks he's successful at first, but then the legendaries start causing more destruction than he intended. Augustine gets very worried, and when J/E asks him to stop his plan, he agrees, because things have gotten far more out of hand than he wanted. Augustine, J/E, and some other secondary characters work together to reign in the legendary pokemon and seal them away again. Augustine agrees to leave Team Scale, and retreats to find somewhere new to be secluded and wallow.

Supervillain AU

Augustine is still originally working in a similar field, but as a normal biologist/zoologist instead of a pokemon researcher. He was working on a serum that would enhance the human body using animal DNA. When he was let go, with no access to the proper channels, Augustine decided to use himself as a test subject. The serum worked! But it also transformed him into a large wolf/fox lycanthrope. He was the one to cause a lot of mindless destruction before he was finally captured and cured by the resident superheroes. This version of Augustine is trying hard to redeem himself and stay away from the serum, and is regularly in and out of reform programs. Although he tries hard, he can regularly give in to the temptation and freedom of becoming a beast once again. (This version is particularly inspired by Kirk Langstrom/Man-Bat & Curt Connors).
