With the Heaven Sword, Lan believes they are truly destined to pass divine judgment on those who would defy the law. Unfortunately they're a little too forgiving and have a poor time acting as a "vigilante" on their own. They are in hiding from their family; they travel between cities and hope not to get recognized. This tends to get them in a bit of trouble, firstly because they have trouble taking another's life, and second because they're easily recognizable with their attire. They are having a hard time letting their past go.

Trouble follows Lan wherever they go and it's not just those who would want them dead or to return to their family.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

Lan tries too hard to keep up their royal face. On the surface they're cultured and "elegant" but they come off as a bit awkward and stuffy in interpersonal situations. Once you get to know them they're a pretty funny person. While they may not understand many of the things "commoners" do, they try their best to take part in everyone's rituals. Since they've escaped their old life they try a little harder to be more like a normal person, often playing minute pranks or cracking odd, inappropriate jokes. They're a real people pleaser and a diamond in the rough, honestly. They really hate being seen as someone who looks down on others, even if they were raised to do so and sometimes make accidental snap judgements or say rude things. On a deeper level Lan tends to be insecure and has only recently overcome their inability to say "no" to people. They feel as if they were only raised as a pawn, a weapon, and want to act according to please their family.
