Dave is a homunculus, a seemingly overly friendly one. He isn’t hostile unless you do something hostile or upsetting to him. It is however hard to determine what that is as his face is made of Google’s eyes glued onto some questionable meat.
The fact he is a homunculus does suggest that a much more powerful being, his creator, is nearby given he has a constant, telepathic link to whatever that being might be.
Davies likes books but can’t read, he eats them citing they taste like cherries.
