As a filly, other ponies made fun of Silver Star's spots. She spent a lot of time alone until she found another outcast, a pony who didn't speak. They became friends and remained that way until adulthood. Silver Star and her friend Midnight Venture both had an interest in outer space. Silver Star is especially interested in magic drawn from the planets and celestial bodies, which she integrates into her studies as an astronomist and a magic user.

Her cutie mark is one white star with swirls of purple around it.
