Virya grew up in a tough environment, being the eldest child in a not well off family, she began working at a young age due to the absence of their parents.
In addition, she would put aside her own desires and dreams to allow her younger siblings to have better things and to enjoy their lives fully.

Due to this, she put off going to Naeperry Academy for many years, which was what she had been dreaming of doing since she first discovered her talent in magic.  
During the time she could've been going to the academy, once she was an adult, she began taking on more labor intensive and dangerous jobs that paid better the higher the risks involved.
She would continue to work such jobs until her siblings we both adults.
Without her knowledge, both of her younger siblings had been applying to jobs and would surprise her with the news and would convince her to stop working such dangerous jobs...

and would convince her to apply to Naeperry academy, exclaiming that they could take care of themselves and it was time for her to enjoy her life after sacrificing so much for them.

After applying and being accepted into the academy, Virya would still work small jobs to help provide for her siblings, feeling that was the least she could do as she felt it was her duty as the eldest.
