Who needs reasuring words when the nights are long and dark? Who needs comfort or a sweet voice to focus on through the pain? Nagaari is there through means of emotional support. She is more concerned with one's spirit and soul than the physical limits and drawbacks of this life.

Her heart is as kind as it can be, despite the lessons of this world being as cruel as they are. She has much to learn.

History

Born in the slums filled with beggars and thieves, Nagaari grew up amongst a loving family that cared about their children. Her parents taught her and her siblings that love is more important than money, that feeling whole inside is more important than being surrounded by friends, and that when there is no roof over your head- you stare at the stars. Maybe it was by their upbringing that her magic grew. She grew up surrounded by so much hate from the outside world that it was shocking how it never really touched her. Many nights they went without food, yet not once did she steal, it was against her parents teaching. Unfortunately not all in her family remained untainted. Many of her siblings abandoned the family during their youth, eventually it was just Nagaari and her parents. As sad as it was to see her brothers and sisters go, she found her bond with her parents glow. Soon her heart began to shine as well. As she aged her heart burned a painless hole through her chest, and her parents saved every shred of money they had to take their beloved daughter to a well-known mage to have it patched up with an iridescent crystal. The mage contained the flowing magic, and Nagaari’s coat came alive with color. Her parents with no magic themselves, that they knew of, thought it best to urge their daughter to move on as well. 

Nagaari was upset by this but eventually came to a peaceful passing after promising to be live at home whenever she had the opportunity. The mage took her to the city to showed her to what luxury looked like for others. She never asked for any of the gold, never looked longingly at the sheen clothing or the dazzling people, but she did enjoy the food when it was offered. Her focus instead was on the broken spirits. The more people the mage introduced her to, the more she learned that the wealthy were just as shattered inside as the poor. Their struggles could be just as sharp as their tongue, and the wounds for many never healed. That was the world everyone lived in.

Nagaair looked to the stars at night, hoping and praying for some sort of way to give relief. Her heart burned and beat for purpose, and yearned to be understood. It was on a cloudless night with no moon in sight that her magic made itself known. Nagaair glowed a crystalline blue and a bright light beamed from her chest. She felt this calming wave of relief, the same feeling a newborn feels cuddled closely to its mother. Safe, and full of love. It was captivating.

The next day when her master teacher came to speak to her about the lost coin- her heart beamed. Her purpose was found. For the days she had no words to comfort the depressed, her magic could make her will to them known. 

She worked through the slums and the city alike from that day forward on her own, asking for no pay, to teach the children of the stars and show the orphans love. Her name became well known in the shadows; not for being the best thief around, but for having the biggest heart.
