Full physical description: Ruka has bright orange hair kept in low twintails that go down to the middle of her back. Her hair ties have little characters on them. She usually looks mad, due to her resting bitch face. She is pretty expressive though, grinning wildly or looking terrified and on the verge of tears. She has brown, slanted eyes. She has an hourglass body type. Her posture is near perfect as well, when she's taking things seriously anyways. Usually, she'll slouch in her seat or lean against a table or the wall.

Typical attire: Ruka wears a blue maid’s dress with a matching apron, both going down to her knees. The skirt part poofs out a lot, with white fabric underneath. The dress also has long Juliet sleeves. She wears white silk gloves, the lace trim hidden by her sleeves. She also wears white silk stockings and a garterbelt. For shoes, she wears black, shined Mary Janes. She has a belt around her waist, and on it is a couple of pouches with different tools for her work.

Personality: Ruka is a decently nice person. She's really loyal to those she deems as friends, but a bit due to strangers. She's really suspicious of new people, and doesn't trust people easily. She's terrified of hurting someone, or seeing someone hurt that she'll try to put herself in between fights. She will make large amounts of food at a time, but typically refuses to accept requests as she just can't bare to serve anymore. She can get a bit nasty when refusing as well. She's socially awkward as well, for an example, she's often not sure how to comfort people. Thanks to her maid ability though, she does know people need privacy. She's pretty easy to set off due to her terrible past, and reacts strongly by backing up, closing up her body language, and curling up into a ball to cry. She's emotional as well. She isn't very smart, due to a lack of formal education, but she's clever. She takes pride in her work, but she hates her talent. Thus, she has a fear that if she can lose her talent, what would she be able to take pride in? She’s also very stuttery and jumpy.

Full Backstory: Yuna Tanaka was born to shockingly poor parents. With not enough money to feed her, not to mention to even clothe her, Yuna soon felt the need to work rather than play like most kids do. As soon as she was old enough, she worked odd jobs all over her little village. It helped a little, but the family remained in poverty.

On Yuna’s 9th birthday, she had a surprise. She was sold, quite literally, to the head of the Shigetaka Group, Ueno Shigetaka to work as a maid. Shigetaka’s staff are all young girls. In fact, Shigetaka is a part of a human slavery ring. It is a well kept secret, however. Only the most loyal of the girls know about it.

The mansion was horrible. You had to learn your job quickly, and if you messed up even a little, a head maid would whip you for it. And if you kept messing up, you'd disappear. No one wanted to disappear, Yuna especially. So she decided that she couldn't just be good, she had to be the best. She had do everything perfectly. But what happens when you're the best?

The hierarchy was so: Shigetaka was at the top. His personal maid is under him, only needing to answer to Shigetaka. She theoretically could order other maids around, but it didn't happen too often. Next, is a team of 4 head maids, each in charge of a different part of the jobs. There is a head of cooking, shopping, serving and cleaning. They had permission to order the maids under them, punish insubordinate or lazy maids, and to go outside. The maids under the shopping team can go outside as well, but it's a very small, trusted group. The rest of the maids have no power over another. While there is a sense of prestige if you're a permanent member of the shopping team, each of the maids would switch between the other three teams weekly. Being good in the three sections were crucial in staying.

Yuna hated life in the mansion, and later changes her name to share the last name of her best friend in the hell hole. Chisa Ikari was brought in around the same time as Yuna did, and they became quick friends. When Yuna reached the age of 12, she fully releases how terrible her parents were and she decides to change her name for two reasons. The first, is to become like sisters with Chisa, and second, to reject the name given to her by her parents. Thus, she took on the alias of Ruka Ikari, that only her fellow maids respected.

When you're the best, you become the personal maid of Shigetaka. Ruka especially hated this job. All of the other jobs had cleaning around the house, general cooking and serving, but this had Ruka waiting on hand and foot for her captor. Ruka had to bathe him, serve him, feed him, massage him, clothe him, and even deal out punishments for him. She would have to whip insubordinate or sobbing girls if she was lucky. If not, the punishment was much worse. Ruka hated every action she took during this time, but still obeyed because she might disappear and another poor girl would take her place.

Life wasn't all bad though. There was a sense of support between the normal maids, with a common enemy, the head maids and Shigetaka. They were locked in the mansion, but the head maids had free reign. One of them took a bit of pity on the maids, having nothing to do in what little spare time they got, and so purchased a tv, a VHS player and some old anime meant to be kept hidden. And so it did, the maid’s best kept secret.

Ruka always tried her best to look for a way out. And then….she found it, in an invitation to Hope’s Peak Academy. With hope for schooling, Ruka decided to bit the bullet. She gathered as much girls as she could, around 14 girls, and snuck out of the mansion together. Ruka led the way, with special permission as Shigetaka’s personal maid. Any guards they met on the way, Ruka claimed that Shigetaka needed some special supplied and that Ruka needed help collecting them. And so they got out, with nothing but what's in their pouches and the clothes on their backs.

The money the girls could pile together wasn't much, so they resorted to drifting from shelter to shelter. They tried their best to find work as well, Ruka especially, using her talent, but they found little luck before it was time for the new semester. Once Ruka started school, finding work suddenly became easier and she was able to support her friends. But...she soon found that her talent came with a lot of emotional baggage. The feelings in her heart wouldn't stop, so… She seeked out the new Talent Removal Program. Hopefully it could help stop her bad feelings for good.

Strengths: Ruka is incredibly determined. Little will truly kill her inner drive. She's also pretty kind. She's a fast learner.

Weaknesses: Ruka knows surprisingly little about the real world, having been sheltered for a long time. She's really stubborn. She doesn't have a formal education, thus reading is rather hard, she doesn't know anything beyond basic math, and her general knowledge is lacking as well. She's very emotional as well and is easily set off.

Fears: Ruka will have to hurt someone again. She’s also scared of not being good at something. She's afraid of hearing people in pain. She's terrified of getting hit.

Hobbies: Ruka doesn't have a lot of free time, but when she does, she ends up watching anime.
