"Even I have purpose here."

A devout believer of the entity, The Believer is a stealth killer intent on creating both hope and despair for his god.

Coming from a religious family, Iris struggled greatly with his queer identity and this ultimately resulted in a notable divide in his family. He doesn't speak at all of his previous life, insisting that all that matters truly is his position serving the Entity.

Iris is often documented by past survivors of the fog as being deadly for his ability to blend in. With his small size and calm outward demeanor, he doesn't hulk over survivors or brandish a weapon in clear view. His weapon is often behind his back and his head is often low, allowing survivors to mistake him for one of their own from the front.

Visions of the Entity have long driven Iris into a maddened state, and he seems to be the happiest he's ever been that way.

Excitable • Moody • Inconsistent

Nobody in the entity's world recognizes Iris, so his old self is long lost to time. Now though, he has a clear and intimidating personality. Iris is excitable within the stranger and more unsettling areas of learning. With a near encyclopedic knowledge on outdated medical procedures and religious history, Iris finds the morbidities of history the most fascinating to learn about.

Conflicted • Dismissive • Violent

Be it a result of the fog, or of his previous life, Iris is a difficult man with anger consuming many of his thoughts. Easily angered and dismissive of what he can't relate to personally, iris doesn't understand many viewpoints outside of his own. As a result of his anger, he can be brutal in his attacks and often finds himself proudly thinking back on these moments as likely his best 'offerings' to the entity.

Miller

The Miller family was a picture-perfect family in the eyes of their community. Husband, wife, a duaghter and a son. The family lived in a picture-perfect house, white picket fence with neat, rustic decor inside. The house always seemed so full of life, but the sounds inside weren't always as joyous as others hoped. Expectations were weights dragging the entire Miller family down, drowning them at the bottom of an ocean where even their struggles and screams were in vain. The polite, kind children the world saw from the household lived with their breaths held and eyes always seeking approval. Iris Miller, the young daughter of the family, would often see glimpses of tendrils and fog through their tired eyes. Iris Miller, the beloved daughter of the Miller family, would disappear without a trace at age 18.

Leaving had never been a choice, but a demand. Iris's identity had been hidden beneath the waves of expectations for 18 years when he told his family the truth. A body he despised and love beyond his grasp which devastated his family, horrified them and sent them into manic states as they chased him out of town, only to pretend he never existed. Iris remembered his family, his church, as he left and let himself forget the name of that old town. His new destination was Vail, a small southern town where nobody would know the Miller name. The closer he got to the town, the closer he felt those tendrils getting, the thicker the fog in the corner of his eyes became.

Believer

Vail treated Iris with a kindness he'd never felt. Free to practice his own beliefs, free to be himself without the weight of judgemental eyes disturbing him in his sleep. Though as his days became kinder, the fog became thicker. His beliefs began to center around it; the fog and tendrils in the corners of his vision. Spirituality became an obsession, something he had to understand completely and without question. When Iris's beliefs began to consume his mind, he stopped noticing the whispers behind his back.

Iris worked late nights, security at a local plant. It was cold, the middle of winter, when the fog at his feet seemed to stop hiding from his gaze. Fixated, he didn't notice the preacher demanding his attention through screams and curses. It was only when he felt a hand grab his collar that he met the man's eyes, smiling with a new glint in his eyes. Repent. The preacher was right, it was Iris's time to repent. He came to the church that Sunday morning, the first to arrive and the last to leave.

The last to leave, nobody saw the bloody candlestick in his hand. Nor did they see the preacher leave.

Iris Miller disappeared without a trace, only his notes to be found. "In this thick fog, even I have purpose."

Ji-Woon Hak • Love/hate

"Love/hate", while not inaccurate, is overcomplicating the matter; Iris adores Ji-Woon as a fellow 'prophet' of the entity, Ji-Woon finds Iris quite annoying. Iris provides the love and Ji-Woon the hate, if not for the Entity restoring life, Iris would surely be dead.

Tarhos and Iris share ideaologies, and this has led to a close alliance between the two of them despite their differences. Tarhos and Iris share in their visions of the fog, and Iris has immense respect for Tarhos and even for his pack, even with only Tarhos's summons of them as evidence of their existences.

Dredge Adoration

It's hard to tell if the Dredge is even capable of specific feeling, but it's clear Iris's adoration for the creature. Iris seems to view the Dredge as the purest 'prophet' of the entity, born of lost hope and despair. It's less of any form of mutual respect, and more Iris praising a creature that doesn't understand his words.
