With an imposing height and regal bearing, Elkdance is mistaken as a feline with high authority within the colony. Nevertheless he is an esteemed combatant and serves as one of Storm Surge's best protectors. He is persistently on the lookout for issues and disturbances on the colony's borders as well as contained within, seeking to resolve such in a peaceful resolution before they have the chance to threaten the safety of his colonymates. He usually offers himself for guarding the camp at night as he feels more active during that time.
His mother had given him the Elk prefix due to how strong and hardy he acted as a kit, larger than his peers yet always considerate in their play. Many had admired his maturity despite his age and held high expectations on him. Though he's met those expectations and continues to maintain them, Elkdance feels rather burdened by adhering to being there and responsible all the time. Which is why he takes pleasure in his rare solo-outings, wandering the edges of the territory and paying attention to nothing but the sounds of the coastal forest.
He's pleased when it's Tempesthowl that grants him her presence on these outings, as he's enchanted by her vivacious and somewhat reckless attitude. Sometimes he's forgets the responsilibities upon his shoulders when they're having a competitive tree-climbing contest or when she's engrossed him in conversations that last from evening to midnight. Regardless of their shaky initial encounter, they've established a high affinity for each other.
