Elden is a man of few words and little sentiment. He has a very grave, serious nature and is quite lethargic; he loves to take afternoon naps at his desk, where he reads many books on math, analysis, spells and theory. Elden also has a twin sister, Ellsie, who is literally the ying to his yang. He frequently finds himself responsible for her rash and often destructive outbursts, always trying to silent her with his calm temperament and persuasion to no avail. He later finally leaves his home on an expedition for the philosophers stone.
