History:
The Afserra is a light baroque breed and is known for their wavey coat and mane that reminded people of the ocean waves, in greece for example the breed is often believed to be a blessing from poseidon himself. The breed registery only goes back to the 18th century but have been around since the 9th century. The breed was first developed for travel and to be used as a war horse due to their endurance but soon also got used for farming work and amusement like chariot races which is still done as a tradition to this day. It is unknown how far this breed goes back as their exact origin is however rather foggy but it is believed to be crossed with different breeds over the years to define what they are today
and may be originally a descendant from the original iberian horses.

After decades of selective breeding their coats became denser to keep rain and snow out during the winter while also protecting them from the summer heat and started to have their tighter natural curls back in the winter while
their summer coat would be smooth with sometimes lighter waves of curls. Finding their natural curly mane and tail stunning they bred for more silkier and curlier mane to preserve this feature as it has become a solid trademark of the breed aswell as their tail that seems to be held outward more from the body in a slight J-tail similar to that of the paso fino.

Nowadays the afserra is highly desirable for a variety of purposes as they are people oriented and a very intelligent breed as they can be trained in many disciplines with enough patience and determination.

Temperament:
The Afserra is a very affectionate and curious horse that is eager to learn. It takes a bit of time to adjust and build trust with a newcomer but once full trust has been earned they will be eager and loyally devoted to their human.

Overall the afserra is an intelligent and trustworthy breed and often carry themselves in a manner that makes them appear much hotter in temperament than they are which can lead to some silly moments as they can be a bit clownish. At most they can get a bit pushy with testing boundries as they are known to do so but despite that are considered mostly gentle to their riders.

Mutated Rabicano:
Rabicano causes roan/stripey white markings that start from the flank, groin and barrel and can be vary from minimal to fully extend over the stomach and up. Due to the primitive striping from the Afserra however the rabicano gene seems to react differently causing their already existing markings to be fully white and more extreme. Often their striping will also more appear on their stomach area
