Chai

chai works at matchas boba shop,runs the register and sometimes makes drinks, and helps care for the cats that are the shops mascots. she was more lucky then matcha also having grown up in the central districts but ran into matcha while he was looking for a place to open his dream shop. She could tell he had it rough as a child from how he acted from what she could tell he came from lower but he also didnt seem to give her as much of the creeps as anyone else from there would have.

Chai has a huge crush on matcha thinking he is a very chill guy, she has overcome her social anxiety with his help and he is the reason she is so confident in her ability to run the shop as well as she does half the time. Matcha also secretly likes her but neither have had the nerves to confess to one another so they leave subtle clues around the shop for each other somedays when they are not as busy.

Chai makes some custom drinks specifically for matcha to show how much she appreciates them for all he does for the shop, she has snuck a peek at the letters matcha gets from his parents and as such wonders why he doesnt ever write back because from what she can see they just really care for him.
