After losing his wife in his living life, he started the Pocket Pals project as a homage to the love of his life. Driven insane by the weight of his loss, he felt like he could join her in the afterlife through the Pocket Pal technology.

He can seem cold and aloof and even moody, but has a gigantic soft spot for people close to him. He loves his family and friends dearly even if he doesn't always know how to express it. Calculated and logical, he still is weirdly in touch with how people are feeling and why even if he can't always relate. He often resents himself for just how much he loves Ava, sometimes being driven to toxic thoughts that he has managed to learn to control. He genuinely wants the best for her and knows sometimes his mental illness would come between her and happiness if he doesn't keep it in check. He keeps these thoughts and feelings tight to his chest so no one can see, often even keeping them from Ava and bottling them instead which sometimes leads to some irrational irratibility at times.
