Alnitak

Sister to Queen Alnilam of the Quasarwings and Princess Mintaka

Alnitak loves dragonets and spending time in the medical wing with her husband, helping out however she can. She is is very close with her sisters, especially Alnilam who kept a watchful eye over her after she was injured. 

When she and her sisters were dragonets, her younger sister Mintaka had flown outside during a bad thunderstorm in Arcturus, claiming to have been following a cute boy. Alnitak flew into the storm to save her sister, she was pelted with hail and narrowly escaped multiple lightning strikes. When she got her sister safe back to the palace, Mintaka whined that her Prince was still out there and didn’t want him to die. Alnitak flew back out into the storm trying to find the dragonet, hail pelted and tore up her wings, when she spotted the dragonet, he was being tossed by the storm struggling to keep his wings flapping. Alnitak snatched the dragonet out of the sky and flew back to the palace but she was struck by lightning along the way. Luckily she was close enough that a pair of guards caught her before she fell to ground level. Thanks to Alnitak the dragonet was unharmed with only a few minor scratches, but the same couldn’t be said for her, one of her legs had to be amputated after being burnt to severely by the lightning strike, she had many scratches and scars from the hail and her wings were torn very badly to the point where she is nearly flightless. 

During her recovery she met a handsome dragon around her age named Saturn, he was working in the medical wing at the time she was injured, he helped her through her recovery and kept her spirts high alongside Alnilam. They started out as friends and slowly started dating till he proposed to her two years into their relationship. They are happily married to this day with a 5 year old dragonet named Orion (by iris_theartist7)

Due to her damaged wings making her a poor flyer, Alnitak stays in the same place and doesn’t travel very often, she usually glides from place to place or uses the bridges. Saturn is working hard on a prosthetic for her leg and a special invention to help her wings to fly, he promises that once perfects the prosthetics their going to fly together and go to her favorite place ❤️🥺

She's not a fan of wearing jewelry but wearing it always reminds her of her mom and how she used to dress her and her sisters up when they were young. 

Even if her scars will never fully heal Alnitak doesn’t blame Mintaka for flying out into the storm, she stays positive and looks on the bright side.
