Akelei Shen

Shen starts the story as a student studying magic technology. He has a special interest in the use of magic technology in living creatures, particularly in the use and creation of prosthetic body parts.

He comes from a family of five. He is one in a set of triplets (as is common for mouse families) with a human father and mousefaun mother. His family is fairly close, though it isn't immediately obvious to people who know Shen alone because he rarely talks about himself or his personal life. In general, Shen is quiet, rarely speaking up unless he feels like he has something useful or important to say. When he does speak, he's very blunt and to-the-point, simply stating his mind without really considering (or caring) how others might perceive him. Sometimes he can seem harsh, but he's mostly just awkward.

He uses a staff to channel his magic.
