Noah Foley
Boyfriend
They started off very rocky – it involved a broken project and lots of yelling (on Yue's part). But the fact of the matter is, Noah wormed his way into Yue's cold little heart. She thinks he's very charming and sweet, a lot goofy but that some adds to the charm. Despite rough first impressions, she was kind of in love with him after they both made apologies. Not so much at the for front of her mind, but when they first kissed, a part of her said 'this feels right'. She never felt real love before and she has it with Noah.
Jonah Sauer
Friend
Sometimes Yue doesn't get the hype about Jonah. Everyone says he's so funny and so relatable and all that, but some days she just doesn't see it. Don't get her wrong – she thinks he's a great roommate and she does have fun with him and thinks he's a good guy. It's just there's a lot of hype and she's often left going "yeah, that's funny, but not THAT funny, you guys". Whenever she's not surrounded by people who build him up, he enjoys his company a lot more.
Aidan Powers
Friend
Yue likes to pretend that she doesn't have time for "friends", only minions or whatever, but if she were to have them, Aidan would be one of her best friends (Noah will always be her number one, though). She and Aidan are both snarky, often getting just a little bit more on the mean side than any of their other friends. The two of them often talk about how they're going to enslave humanity or what their world order will consist of. She's also one of the few people that consistently remembers Aidan's allergies.
James Taylor
Friend/Protector
Yue doesn't need protection, she knows this because she's a huli jiang and a technomage, so she has plenty of back up. Try telling that to James, though. James sees her as one of his pups, something to be protected and if people give her a hard time, he's there looming behind her like a protective monster. Yue...likes James as much as she can like people that aren't her few select friends. He's not a fixture in her life like others, but when he's there, she's pretty content.
Dallas Banks
Frienemy
Yue doesn't like Dallas, not a whole lot. She views Dallas as bully, never mind the fact he has a personality similar to James'. Why is he a bully? Because he still hasn't forgiven Yue for yelling at Noah the first time they met, despite Yue apologizing and Noah understanding. It's hard for her to like someone who huffs and puffs at her. It doesn't help she doesn't like when Dallas picks Noah up to hug him.
Maximiliano Vargas
'The enemy of my enemy is my friend'
Yue again has this feeling that she may actually like Max? It's complicated. In the beginning, the two didn't necessarily like each other for much the same reason as her and Dallas – she yelled at Noah, she upset him. But unlike Dallas, Max chilled out and while they're not exactly friends, they're friendly. Whenever she wants to sit and stew in her grudge holding, he'll always be there willing to hold a grudge with her.
Mei Liao
Mother
Yue loves her mom, even if sometimes she doesn't act like it. Even when she thinks her mom is silly, she loves her. Why? Well, simply put because her mom loves her and shows it in a way Yue can understand – she stayed with Yue. Rather than leave her with her birth father like Mei has done countless children in the past, she kept Yue. Sometimes she gets frustrated when Mei starts to mess with her hair or tell her all about how she needs to use her wiles, but this her mom, she loves her.
Fai Liao
Half brother
Resentment and just don't get along at all. Fai doesn't like the fact that Yue was the one child that Mei decided to keep, Yue doesn't really like the idea of other people coming in on her relationship with her mother. As far as Yue is concerned, she's an only child (even when she casually drops how many half brothers and sisters there are out there). Fai showing up often throws a wrench in that and she'll stubbornly refuse to even acknowledge him.
