- Ume's a former student at Hakone Academy as well as the former manager over the Hakone Academy Bicycle Club
- she's dating pretty much the whole team because they love her and she loves them; she's actually dating Shinkai Hayato and have been for two years, give or take
- he often calls her "yakko-san" much to her exasperation
- she does care very much for Hayato's little brother, Yuto and tries to make sure he's taken care of before she graduates
- Ume does wear glasses occasionally due to her nearsightedness, but most of the time she keeps them off
