A ONCE-SOLDIER ONCE-QUEEN, and now little more than a desert ghost. Deeply lonely; equally evasive. Tormented by her past, unable to let anything go. Burdened by guilt. Longs for penance, but knows she will never be able to attain it. Solemn, quiet, distrusting of strangers and friends alike. Deeply contained. Resentful of most all of her blessings and the violence they bring. Troubled relationship with religion. Perpetually waning. Lost all sense of time years ago - left watching the world move on without her. Can't bring herself to return home. Altruistic and deeply moral, but struggles to show it. Socially inept. Tries harder than she would ever willingly allow anyone else to know. Loves quite a lot; believes it is entirely useless. Craves something that she is unwilling to put words to. Resents her own desires. Self-deprecating; self-destructive, but trying.
