Stella  was created as a standard Daycare model Reploid, made as part of a  matched set with her son Luna. He should have been allowed to grow up  into an adult, should have had time to find who he was without Stella's  guidance--

They should have gotten to be mother and child for so much longer than 4 years.

Let me see that chart -- I'm still very upset that you didn't tell me the commander was hurt. But I'll take care of this Reploid, I promise.

Time  was rarely ever kind, however, and the Maverick Virus even less so. Her  son - Luna - was the one who fell to it in her timeline. By the time  all was said and done, her son was retired, and Stella was in despair at  the loss of her child. For lack of a better place for her (and as this  was before Zero's arrival) the Maverick Hunters offered to take her in.

Little  by little she recovered - once she was stable again, she was welcomed  into the Rescue & Support Division of the Hunters. While rarely  deployed, Stella's role in the field is to look after any children found  and rescued until their parents can come collect them. She provides an  important service keeping them calm and safe while the Hunt is carried  out - though occasionally she finds herself in the medical lab assisting  with patients.

It was this line of thinking that put her in charge of the recently-recruited Zero once he'd woken up at the Hunter base.

Let's do our best together, for his sake - right, Iris? I'll take care of both of us until he gets home.

And  so it was that Stella grew attached to her new charge in red armor.  Patiently awaiting his return each time - trusting that soon, he'd be  closeby again.

She just had to trust him.

• As  Luna's mother, she has a wealth of cute baby stories about him -  unfortunately, she rarely talks about them. Many Reploids forget she was  a daycare bot as a result.
• She typically wears light dresses and aprons around the base - but has an "official" set of armor when she's on rescue support.
• She often reads old fairytales in her line of work, but she's come to enjoy a good mystery, too.
• She  loved Iris every bit as much as Zero did, but rarely talks about her -  trying to be strong for Zero's sake so he won't have to worry about her.
• She  also appears in the Zero series - she can be spoken with to help her  recollect her memories along with Zero, allowing you to replay a  selection of X-era stages.
• She enjoys sewing as a hobby.
• In  Maverick of the Week, she was the one who went Maverick instead of  Luna. Luckily for her, she was merely placed into stasis until she could  be cured.
  
• When the fake Zero (Infinity) was created by the X-Hunters turned out to be uncontrollable, a fake Stella was created to keep him calm. That Reploid is known as Arachne and she does not like Stella in the slightest.
