Suzumu Geto 🥀

Suzumu Geto (夏油進 Getō Suzumu) is a supporting character in the Jujutsu Kaisen series. She is a Special Grade sorcerer and the elder twin sister of Suguru Geto. After Suguru’s defection, the jujutsu higher-ups placed Suzumu on house arrest with 24/7 supervision. She has since been residing in the previously abandoned Gojo Family residence under the supervision of assigned sorcerers and Satoru Gojo.

Jujutsu

• Binding Vows – Satoru’s Promise: Suzumu has a Binding Vow with Satoru, promising not to attack anyone unless they present a clear or stated threat to any sorcerers from either of the colleges. This notably allows her to attack any higher-ups or members of the Big Three sorcerer families not affiliated with either school.

Trivia

• Suzumu’s first name contains the kanji for “advance; make progress” (進 susumu). Her nickname, Suzu, also means “bell” (鈴 suzu).
  • In Japanese mythology, the god Susanoo-no-Mikoto’s name contains susa which has been thought to be derived from either the verb susabu/susamu  meaning “to be impetuous; to be violent; to go wild,” or the verb susumu, “to advance.”
• She was born five minutes before Suguru.
• Suzumu has a fascination with jujutsu history, specifically as it pertains to twins. She is especially curious about the belief that Sukuna had four arms and two faces because he had absorbed his twin.
• Her relationship with Suguru is meant to parallel Maki and Mai, Mimiko and Nanako, and Atsumu and Osamu Miya (Haikyuu!!).
