CYRI PENHALLOW

Cyri was born in a village surround the Scattered Wastes long before war tensions began. They spent the early years of their life living with their family in the Shifting City, eventually finding a job managing the affairs and finances of a very wealthy, but rather unscrupulous businessman. It soon became apparent that their employer was no ordinary man, but was actually a very old vampire who dealt in all manner of illicit and underground trade. The money and resources available through their employment allowed them the ability to train their own magical abilities on the side - finding interest in wizardry and the study of magic through texts. While not specifically working for their boss, they dedicated much of their free time to this pursuit, as well as the learning of multiple languages and  general study, finding much comfort in old tomes and histories.

In return for Cyri’s loyal service and dedication to their employer over a number of years, they were gifted with immortality and eventually were allowed to became a true vampire - they continued to serve their employer until his untimely death at the hands of a party of adventurers. Effectively unemployed, Cyri wandered through the territories, eventually finding themselves in the City of Dawn at the height of monster/human tensions. They found a job in the city library cataloguing and translating texts, remaining in this position throughout the war and even after the city changed hands. By this time, their reputation for being able to decipher the secrets of mysterious texts were well known and a number of adventurers and individuals would often come to them for assistance. This is how Cyri and the director of TALON first met - subsequent to their meeting they were recruited and have been with the organisation ever since.
