 "If I don’t whip out my little knives and spin around this city bellowing “I AM THE ALMIGHTY HAWKE, COME FACE ME EVIL DOERS”, then who will?"

Life's been rough, but the important things involve family and chuckles. Hawke's been a little wisecracking comedian since she was little, and has only grown more honed in her talent of sharp sarcasm with age! Like a fine, fiiiine wine.. Humor is such an intregal part of her that even when she's aching and sulking, she can't help but have a little lightheartedness to her, even though she's watered down exponentially. The only emotion untouched by her wise humor is her rage, which is raw and unforgiving, unnerving for those around her. That side of her was only shown during the quest of Leandra, and when Bethany was held captive. No one since has seen such rage! It's uncommon for Hawke to lose herself like that. 

Family matters greatly to Hawke, and she lost both mother and brother, although thankfully left Bethany (despite her being in The Circle). After Leandra's death, Hawke was noticably somber for a long period of time, being less wisecracking than usual and more soft-spoken from her grief. There'd still be a quip here and there of course, but the entire ordeal took her down a few pegs. It was rough. The party was there to console her as she took the time off from being Ms Hero, and she greatly appreciated it. Hawke still had family left, they were not blood, but they were family! This time more than any other showed that to be true, and it helped her along in her long road to recovery. 

Killing Gascard did not help, but it did make her feel better.

The humorous Hawke made a comeback! It took a long while, but she made a comeback and celebrated with what remained of her family - now expanded ever since arriving in Kirkwall.

And then, you know, went on to fight the Qunari and face a lyrium-crazed Meredith. Life never stops being exciting, does it? 

The rest .. well, after being part of a city-wide war and aiding in the destruction of the Knight-Commander Meredith, it's time to take your family and head for the hills! 

Hawke had such a puppy crush on Aveline and took her to the Deep Roads for "one last visit" to Fereldan. Just to be home again and see how things were doing. I mean, it's reckless taking the Captain of the Guard, but you know? They both deserved to see the Homeland one last time, so Hawke brought her along.

Later on, Hawke would find herself falling head over heels for Captain Isabela, a romance of fun and toil until someone fell in love and the other was eventually to follow. There was no way Hawke was going to hand over Isabela to the Arishok! Please! Ah.. Two wisecrackers in love. What more could you want? They're almost unbearable together, but so entranced with love. Melts your cold, maleficar heart, doesn't it?

And you can bet Hawke bought her beloved Captain a new ship.

these two are so cute seriously, hawke would just meet up with isabela at the docks and check out the boats all evening. that's all their dates have to be.
